4 Capítulo 4 - Don't Jump

No dia seguinte, Yu acordou sozinho no tapete. Gin estava na cozinha fazendo seu café. Arrumou o cabelo, passou o lápis e foi pra cozinha. Chegou por trás dela e segurou-a pela cintura e sussurrou em seu ouvido:

\"Angel in disguise — you save my soul
But you make my heart go blind
My devils rage inside — just can\'t let go
Cause it feels so right
You make my heart go blind\"

Ela se virou, sorriu e os dois se beijaram.

— Bom dia, meu príncipe!

— Bom dia, perfeição divina!

Ele tomou o café, planejando o que faria depois. Estavam assistindo TV quando Yu disse:

— Que tal um passeio na cobertura? O dia está tão lindo...

— Boa ideia! Preciso tomar um ar fresco — mania de humano, já que respiração era só para vivos, fazia 15 anos que ela morava com eles.

Saíram do apartamento e pegaram o elevador para o andar de cima. Foram recebidos na cobertura por uma rajada de vento gelado e cortante. Lá estava vazio. Somente o barulho de suas respiraçõese do trânsito, um barulho baixo e quase imperceptível, estavam no 18º andar.

Yu soltou sua mão da dela e se dirigiu para a mureta que o separava de um abismo mortal. Nessa hora, ela ligou os fatos. Aquele \"Hmmm...\" da noite passada, o convite para um passeio na cobertura, e agora a perigosa proximidade do abismo.

Ele ouviu sua voz doce começando uma música conhecida:

\"On top of the roof
The air is so cold and so calm
I say your name in silence
You don\'t want to hear it right now\"

Olhou para trás e viu uma lágrima escorrendo pela face branca, brilhando como se fosse uma pedra preciosa. Yu debruçou-se sobre a mureta e uma lágrima escorreu rápida, pingando no abismo abaixo deles. Ela continuou:

\"The eyes of the city
Are counting the tears falling down
Each one a promise
Of everything you never found\"

Ela continuou cantando:

\"I scream into the night for you
Don\'t make it true
Don\'t jump
The lights will not guide you through
They\'re deceiving you
Don\'t jump
Don\'t let memories go
Of me and you
The world is down there
Out of view
Please don\'t jump\"

Yu sentou-se na mureta, de frente para Gin, e ela continuou:

\"You open your eyes
But you can\'t remember what for
The snow falls quietly
You just can\'t feel it no more

Somewhere out there
You lost yourself in your pain
You dream of the end
To start all over again\"

Lágrimas escorriam pelos rostos dos dois. Yu ajoelhou-se no muro e o refrão voltou:

\"I scream into the night for you
Don\'t make it true
Don\'t jump
The lights will not guide you through
They\'re deceiving you
Don\'t jump
Don\'t let memories go
Of me and you
The world is down there
Out of view
Please don\'t jump\"

Yu ficou de pé na mureta, Gin agarrou sua blusa numa fraca tentativa de impedi-lo.

\"I don\'t know how long
I can hold you so strong
I don\'t know how long

Just take my hand
Give it a chance
Don\'t jump\"

Gin soltou sua blusa e subiu na mureta ao lado dele. Ele passou o braço pela sua cintura.

\"I scream into the night for you
Don\'t make it true
Don\'t jump
The lights will not guide you through
They\'re deceiving you
Don\'t jump
Don\'t let memories go
Of me and you
The world is down there
Out of view
Please don\'t jump\"

Deram as mãos.

\"Don\'t jump
And if all that can\'t hold you back
Then I\'ll jump for you\"

Yu sussurrou para Gin:

— Ich liebe dich für immer

E deram um passo a frente.
